Stuttgart Christmas market

Everywhere throughout the city festive lights are sparkling , the air is filled with the scent of cinnamon, vanilla, fried sausage and mulled wine and Christmas music is in the air.
The festively illuminated city - dominated by the medieval old palace, the towers of the collegiate church and the baroque buildings of the new castle – creates the perfect setting for the Stuttgart Christmas market, which takes place from 24. November to 23. December 2010 in Baden-Württemberg's capital.

1692 first mentioned the decorated Christmas market between Schloss-, Schiller and market place has become a popular meeting place for visitors from all over Europe. All kinds of Christmas magic can be found at the Stuttgart Christmas market, which has not lost the character of a historic market even after over 300 years.

From Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., the market is opened.

Hotel bars weekend

After the successful action "Week of the restaurants", the organizers have started another action, "Hotel bars weekend". ARCOTEL Allegra Zagreb & Joe´s Bar were part of it.

In September was organized action "Week of the restaurant". The organizer´s goal was to show that prices in the hotel restaurants do not always necessarily have to be expensive. The organizers started last week another successful campaign and called it “Hotel bars weekend". This action has proven that compared to usual bars, hotel bars offer a higher quality standard.
This action involved five hotels of 4 & 5 star category in Zagreb. Promotional period was from Thursday, 18.11. until Sunday, 21.11.2010. During these four days we had the opportunity to try 44 different cocktails reduced up to 75%.
ARCOTEL Allegra, and Joe's Bar offered the appropriate program. In addition to live music we provided DJ Sessions for great entertainment.

European month of photography in Berlin

In autumn Berlin represents itself as a center of photography and is hosting the “European month of photography” for the 4th time. Until 28th November 2010 you can see more than 10.000 pictures of 500 international photographers representing "Modern Life, New images". 140 locations will be part of this citywide exhibition. Fifth anniversary of cooperation between Faculty of textile and technology and ARCOTEL Allegra

The cooperation between the project "Fashion closet," which is organized by the Faculty of textile and Technology, and the ARCOTEL Allegra has lasted for five years and the goal of both parties to put Zagreb on the world map of fashion destinations.

Fashion closet is a professional project team of young designers inspired by "Royal College of Arts”. This is the opprtunity for young designers to show their works. The jury, which is made of the already famous designes, announce the best ones. One of the organizer´s goals is to establish Zagreb as one of the fashion destinations on the world fashion map.
Under the slogan "Creative Business" ARCOTEL Allegra has since its opening supported young and creative people. This year all the members of the jury are again accommodated at ARCOTEL Allegra.
Many famous names in fashion and art have already worked with fashion closet, such as; Silvijo Vujicic, I gle, etc.

The line-up reads like a who is who of the scene: Ellen Allien, veteran of the Berlin techno scene, Paul Kalkbrenner, well known from the music movie "Berlin Calling", techno legend Sven Väth and many more.

On 5th October 2010, the ARCOTEL Camino Stuttgart hosted its fourth and last
Art & Culture event for this year.
As usual, the evening was a tremendous success.
Numerous guests came to admire the works of Italian artist Felice Nittolo.
In addition, executive chef Carsten Lopp and his team treated the guests to exquisite culinary delights that were served in combination with wine by the Austrian winemaker Toni Hartl and the Baden Württemberg winery Danner. Both winemakers also joined the event and were happy to assist the guests in their choice of the right wine.
To round off the programme, singer Sylvia Ernst of Ernst(es) Entertainment performed her songs and show thus guiding through the evening with a lot of charm, wit and esprit.
Resident manager Sebastian Ömer as well as the hotel's entire staff would like to thank everybody for a wonderful evening; we are really looking forward to 11th January 2011 when the ARCOTEL Camino Stuttgart will once again open its doors

The printed designs on canvas show details from various hotels of the ARCOTEL group and close-ups from the world of gastronomy. The pictures are accompanied by typical ARCOTEL Hotel slogans.

In addition to the pictures exotic plants in elegant vases complete the atmosphere.

The ARCOTEL Rubin Hamburg proudly presents works by Walter Wittmann

Located on Steindamm in Hamburg, the ARCOTEL Rubin is proud to host its first Art & Culture event in the course of which the hotel will be the first to present paintings from the estate of the late Austrian artist Walter Wittmann to a Hamburg audience.

The Austrian painter, who died last year, is considered a master of simplicity who managed to express the complexity of his work by means of a clear and reduced style that makes his paintings appear particularly straightforward and unadorned. From 12th November 2010, six of Wittmann's most well known works will be on permanent display in the ARCOTEL Rubin's crystal bar.

"By exhibiting Wittmann's impressive paintings, which were provided on a permanent loan basis, the ARCOTEL Rubin for the first time partakes in the Art & Culture project. We consider it one of our missions to promote the arts", says Manfred Mayer, CEO of the ARCOTEL Hotel AG, when asked for the reasons behind ARCOTEL'S dedication. The day of 12th November 2010 will, furthermore, mark the beginning of a series of exhibitions that will be organised in the ARCOTEL Rubin and changed on a quarterly basis.

"Germany's Next Top Model" opens its casting tour in the ARCOTEL Camino Stuttgart

"Germany's Next Top Model", the successful TV show broadcast by German TV channel ProSieben, is going into the next round. On 1st October 2010 the Germany-wide casting tour, now in its sixth season, will kick off at the ARCOTEL Camino in Stuttgart. Rather than hosting a single open casting, this year the Top Model entourage will be touring 21 German cities, with 927 young girls trying to catch the eye of the casting team. How many of them will make it into the actual show is not yet known. The most exciting fashion capitals, designer clothes and photo shoots with the world's best photographers are all waiting for the girls, plus the answer to the key question - who will be "Germany's Next Top Model 2011"? The new series will be aired on ProSieben beginning early 2011.

An initiative of the BWPOST, the ARCOTEL Camino as well as the TV Nellingen Handball Bundesliga GmbH
Wednesday, 3rd of March 2010 the promotion “We are running for AGAPEDIA 2010” was presented for the first time.
The initiated companies appeared in public on the 06th of March 2010 at the top game of the 2nd Handball Federation League South of the women in Ostfildern-Nellingen. The Nellinger Hornets handballers are going to start the 17nd of the “Stuttgarter Zeitungslauf” by the theme “We are running for AGAPEDIA” on Sunday, the 20th of June 2010.

Stefan Wiech, the CEO of the TV Nellingen Handball Bundesliga GmbH introduced this Charity Event during a press conference in the ARCOTEL Camino Stuttgart:” The distance of the halfmarathon will be 21,0975 kilometres.

"companoes, fan, viewer, friend – everybody is allowed to buy one meter or more. The price of one meter is 10 cent and is to 100% for the foundation of AGAPEDI.
As total aim all involved parties are aiming a donation of 10.549 Euro. That means that every meter has to be sold. This is a proud effort that we are planning. If somebody likes to buy 100 meter, he has to pay 10 euros.”

....and Sunday Jazz Brunch

The restaurant at ARCOTEL Wimberger goes back to its roots as a place full of history and welcomes its guests at the WIMBERGERs wia z'Haus. The legendary Jazz Brunch will be continued as usual.

The established team around executive chef Peter Lerner turned the menu at the restaurant at ARCOTEL Wimberger almost completely inside out. Since autumn of last year the menu has been dominated by traditional Viennese fried breaded chicken with potato salad or Fiaker goulash with fried sausages. And of course, such sweet delights as homemade curd cheese dumplings.

Sunday is brunch day
Sunday is the day of the traditional WIMBERGERs Jazz Brunch. Guests can indulge in a sumptuous buffet brunch and enjoy live entertainment with music stars presenting their jazz, blues, soul or swing melodies. Brunch time is Sundays from 12.00 to 3 p.m. (except July and August).

Prominent Wall Artists talking

On the occasion of its fifth anniversary and the twentieth anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, the ARCOTEL Velvet Berlin staged an exclusive discussion event.

"The fall of the Berlin Wall was initiated by the East. It was a true people´s decision - an impressive demonstration of grassroots democracy", the former Foreign Minister of the Federal Republic of Germany, Hans Dietrich Genscher, wrote in the German newspaper Berliner Tagesspiegel, commenting on the collapse of the Berlin Wall.

2009 was a year of commemoration in Germany. ARCOTEL also joined in the experience, commemorating, of course, the fall of the Berlin Wall in November 1989, but also the fact that five years ago the opening of the ARCOTEL Velvet Berlin marked the start of the ARCOTEL group`s successful track record in Germany. Two anniversaries creating two occassions for a very special event: Under the motto "ARCOTEL TALKS", the ARCOTEL Velvet Berlin invited five Berlin Wall artists and five journalists to participate in a roundtable discussion on the past and present of Berlin Wall.

Cultural Brand Award 2009 Berlin

ARCOTEL as partner of culture and glamour at the Cultural Brand gala at the Berlin Admiralspalast theatre where creative talent and decision - makers from the industry met up.


On 29th November 2009 it was time again for this year`s marketing awards ceremony hosted by the Berlin agency Causales in cooperation with Deutsche Post DHL and the "Zeit" publishing house. The glamorous gala night with 1,500 guests from the fields of culture, business, politics and media was held at the legendary Admiralspalast theatre. In addition to the award ceremony the evening provided a programme full of culture and a glamorous after-award party.

A special partnership
The ARCOTELgroup, represented by its Berlin hotels, was behind the scenes of the gala and the congress. ARCOTEL John F Berlin acted as premium sponsor of the event and ARCOTEL Velvet Berlin provided comfortable accommodation for the speakers at the congress and for the winners of the cultural brand awards.

Orlando Fitness & Spa

In November 2009, after only a one-month renovation period, ARCOTEL Allegra Zagreb was able to present its refurbished Spa & Fitness Centre to its guests.

The Beatles return to Hamburg

In May 2009, an interactive Beatles museum was opened in the "Kiez" (as the area around the Reeperbahn is affectionately called) in Hamburg. As an official partner, the ARCOTEL Rubin recommends all guests to visit the museum and enter the fascinating world of the unique Beatlemania project.

The Beatles were born in England, but grew up in Hamburg. Right on the Reeperbahn, from where they went on to conquer the world in the 1960s, the "Fab Four" have once again found a home in the amusement district of St. Pauli. Just a guitar`s throw from the Beatles Square, visitors will get the chance to immerse themselves in everything about the band, from the early days until their break -up.

At ARCOTEL Nike Linz the worlds of art, fine food and wine come together at the monthly Art & Culture events to form a unique trilogy.

The popular event series Art & Culture at ARCOTEL Nike has been a standing feature in the calender of the hotel on the banks of the River Danube for several years now.

Every first Thursday of the month (except for August) Area Manager Rinaldo Bortoli, Gerneral Manager Fritz Nagl and their team host Art & Culture at the KÉ café & bar, in July also in the ARCOgARTen garden.
Starting in 2010 they will also offer a highly select trilogy of art, fine food and wine tasting, a unique event in Linz.

ARCOTEL Kaiserwasser Vienna - Wedding Package

The ARCOTEL Kaiserwasser provides a unique atmosphere and setting and assists the soon-to-be-weds in the planing of the best day in their lives.

The ARCOTEL Kaiserwasser Vienna was, for the first time, represented at this year`s "Trau Dich" wedding fair, which took place from 22nd to 24th January at the Vienna Exhibition Centre. The well-placed, 9 sqm large stand attracted keen interest. The exceptional location at the ARCOTEL Kaiserwasser, combining the modern Viennese skyline close to the Vienna International Centre with the romantic and idyllic nature along the River Danube, fascinated many future brides and grooms.

The lovingly arranged wedding package with its motto "As I like it" proved particulary popular as it provides the perfect assistance to the spouses-to-be in all the minor and major decisions that need to be taken around that very special day.

ARCOTEL Boltzmann Vienna - Ludwig Boltzmann

Ludwig Boltzmann was born on 20th February, 1844. It was the night between Shrove Tuesday and Ash Wednesday in Landstraße, a suburb of Vienna. On the following day he was christened Ludwig Eduard in the parish of St. Rochus and St. Sebastian. Boltzmann once said that the date and time of his birth were the reason for the frequently rapid changes of this spirits from frolic cheerfulness to deep grief.


Boltzmann grew up in a time of change. It was the time after the revolution of 1848, the time between ancient regime and modernity. Just as those years were characterized by new ideas, the area of physics experienced changes during the life of Boltzmann. It was the turn from Newton's classical worldview to the postclassical modern view of science, the dispute between idealism and materialism, between the rigid laws of society and cosmological order and the progressive ideas that we associate with the keyword "Darwinism".

ARCOTEL Moser Verdino Klagenfurt - Postcard Collection

Did you know that the postcard originated in Carinthia?

The first postcard was created by the Klagenfurt resident Emanuel Herrmann, who was also related to the hotel’s former owners, the Moser family. To keep the postcard, which has since become a popular holiday mail and souvenir, from falling into oblivion, the ARCOTEL Moser Verdino offers its own postcard collection. Every year, the ARCOTEL Moser Verdino collection grows by one postcard depicting contemporary Carinthian art. Thus, young local artists are provided with an opportunity to present their work. In October 2009, the artwork of the year was chosen for the fifth consecutive time. The 2010 artwork was created by Tita Ruben and is entitled “Kater” (Male cat). Born in Wolfsberg in 1970, the artist was awarded the second prize at the 2004 BA Arts Awards. She is presenting her work at Galerie 3 in Klagenfurt.

Art & Culture at the ARCOTEL Camino

This series of events has established itself as the new and popular venue at the ARCOTEL Camino.

Four such events - one every three months - were held in 2009. Culture Manager Agneta Kreischer organises the art exhibition. Every three months specially chosen artists present their work for which the BAR SCALA provides an ideal ambiance. The events are accompanied by winemakers from Austria and Stuttgart`s sourrounding region and their wines and they also change quarterly. The WEISSENHOF Restaurant, where Carsten Lopp has only recently taken over as new Executive Chef, provides the culinary delights to go with the events. The evenings are rounded off with live lounge music. After a well-frequented event on 12.01.2010 the team is looking forward to the events scheduled for the rest of the year: 06.07. and 05.10.2010.
