Cuisine at the highest level – Culinary Art Festival 2011

The Culinary Art Festival, by now one of the most important gourmet festivals in Europe, already took place the 4th in 2011. The "hotspots" of Linz, a consolidation of almost 60 restaurateurs and hoteliers, year after year campaign successfully and make Linz the indulgence centre of Austria. Within the course of the Culinary Art Festival – under the patronage of once-in-a-century cook Prof. Dr. h.c. Eckart Witzigmann – 11 celebrity chefs provided culinary fireworks for the sensual pleasures in Upper Austrian state capital.

Culinary guest appearance in a class of its own
The guests of dasRESTAURANT at the ARCOTEL Nike Linz had on the 26th April exclusively the chance to enjoy a six course gala dinner of above the title culinary star Martin Fauster. In action were four members of the "Fauster brigade", 12 waiters and 10 cooks of the ARCOTEL Nike Linz. The gala dinner was additionally supported by the vineyard Gerald Tschida, which was in charge of the corresponding and accompanying wines for each course. According to this maximal effort the culinary guest appearance of Martin Fauster was a very successful and tasty event.

Inventive cooking
Since 2004 38 years old Martin Fauster, a native of Styria, is chef de cuisine of the gourmet restaurant "Königshof" at the hotel Königshof in Munich. "A good, clear cuisine, the focus on the main product, witty and inventive cooked, without gimmicks", Martin Fauster describes his cooking style, which he implemented after years of travel at the "Königshof". The guests at dasRESTAURANT of the ARCOTEL Nike Linz, amongst others the president of Austrian Medical Chamber Peter Niedermoser, spoke in high terms of the lukewarm salmon trout with avocado, the langostinos with cauliflower, quinoa and fond of maces, the gently roasted lamb with sweetbread ravioli, and of course the perfect corresponding wines from Burgenland.
