All about Klagenfurt

Klagenfurt ist the capital of Carinthia with a population of 90,000 and is located close to the Wörthersee in the South of Austria. The town's landmark is the "Lindwurm". According to a legend, an evil dragon infested the region where Klagenfurt is located today.

Those who are interested in hisory can explore the 800 years of history of Klagenfurt on a walk through the old town. Another highlihgt are the nostalgia rides (Nostalgiefarhten) in summer, which are a unique possibility to experience the city from an unusual perspective.

  • Gustav Mahler Komponierhäuschen: Gustav Mahler is a famous musician who worked and lived close to Klagenfurt. In the year 1899 he bought a small mansion whis is now a museum.
