PICASSO IN ZAGREB

On 23 April 2013 the largest exhibition of representative works by Pablo Picasso will open in Zagreb. Picasso is a famous Spanish painter, graphic artist and sculptor, whose works are widely appreciated around the world and in Croatia as well, though the majority of his opus will remain a mystery. The exhibition will present Picasso’s masterpieces that have been displayed worldwide in the last three years. After Europe, the USA, China, Japan, Taiwan, Russia, Australia and Hong Kong, the exhibition will also arrive in Zagreb. Picasso’s fans will have the opportunity to visit it until 7 July 2013 and see for themselves the life story of one of the most famous artists of the 20th century. The exhibition comprises over 56 paintings and other works along with 40 photographs, displayed at the Klovićevi dvori Gallery, which will most certainly amaze numerous visitors.

ARCOTEL Allegra Zagreb has recognized the great interest of Picasso’s fans and for that reason it has already prepared special offers for your stay in Zagreb in that period for which you can already book your tickets now. The Zagreb audience will be particularly fascinated by the part of the exhibition dedicated to Pablo’s muse – Croatian Dora Maar- who exerted a great influence on Pablo’s life with her political views. Visitors may admire her portrait from 1937. A unique event which will transform Zagreb  into a desirable cultural destination. Visit hotel ARCOTEL Allegra and the Klovićevi dvori Gallery from 23 March to 7 July 2013 and admire Picasso’s works.

Berlin for the whole family

Berlin is lively, creative, and above all, fun! The city offers an incomparable range of
entertainment for kids and adults alike – its fascinating cultural diversity never ceases to
amaze. Our capital is therefore the ideal destination for your next family adventure!

This is where you can discover new things together, learn tons and just let off steam - and it's not only the kids who will get a thrill. In a city this size you just don't know where to start! Entertainment or art and culture – what do you fancy? We have put together the main family highlights of Berlin, all you need to do is make your choice!

And the best of all: till 28th of February 2013 we offer an exclusive family special at the ARCOTEL John F Berlin and the ARCOTEL Velvet Berlin.

Our family highlights of the city:

For those with a sweet tooth – Ritter Sport's Chocoworld
Since 2012, Berlin has not only been the federal capital, it is also the chocolate capital of
Germany! Gendarmenmarkt Square is where you will find the world's first RITTER SPORT
flagship store: the COLOURFUL CHOCOWORLD. Literally spread over nearly 1,000 square
metres, there is nothing here that won't get the hearts of chocolate lovers racing. Take the
CHOCOPATH to learn how chocolate is made – from the growing of cocoa beans to the
ready-to-eat chocolate bar.

Zoo Aquarium
Berlin Zoo has the most significant collection of animals in the world with roughly 1,500 types
and around 16,000 animals in total, including countless fish, reptiles and amphibians! This is
because one of the main highlights of the zoo is the Zoo Aquarium – which can also be
visited separately from the zoo itself. Here for example you will find a 150,000 litre aquarium!

Legoland
On Potsdamer Platz you can dive into an interactive world of Lego bricks in the world's first
indoor Legoland: the Legoland Discovery Centre in the Sony Center. There are many things
to see and discover around the roughly 3,500 m² area, while you can also take a look behind
the scenes at Legoland. And the best thing is that Lego Miniland has built a miniature city of
Berlin from almost five million pieces of Lego.

LOXX Miniature Worlds Berlin
Allow yourself to be fascinated by a miniature world of superlatives! Right in the middle of the
city of Berlin there is a 950 m² model railway, or to be more precise: the world's largest
digitally-controlled model railway! Explore the city from a different perspective as the train
travels through Berlin as a miniature city, taking in the best-known sights of the capital.

Taster Day in the ARCOTEL Rubin

On Thursday, 13 December 2012 we welcomed around 15 young men and women who are participating in a part-time course in the hotel industry / gastronomy.

In cooperation with Department for U25 Career Advice at the Employment Agency in Hamburg, we organised a series of programmes to outline the various jobs and opportunities in our industry to these young people from midday to 3.00pm, in a very "palatable" way.

The young people were welcomed by Mr Müller and Ms Koblitz. After a brief round of introductions, both of them presented themselves and their careers. They also touched on the various training opportunities available at the ARCOTEL Rubin. The young people were then taken on a guided tour of the hotel by Mr Stahl.

For the last part of the day the visitors were split into two groups. In these groups they were able to gain some practical insight into two key departments at the hotel, the kitchen and the events restaurant FACETTE. Tables were laid immaculately and various cutting techniques were practised in the kitchen. Finally, the groups sat down at the set tables and ate the food they had all prepared together.

The purpose of the day was to pass on some knowledge to the young people and perhaps also encourage one or two to join us for professional training.
